La serie EMEL, está formada por quince trabajos
originales de Eduardo Meléndez Morales estudiante de primero de Bellas Artes de
la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria.
Esta serie de quince obras originales está realizada
en A4 y todas repiten la misma técnica y proceso creativo. Este proceso
consiste en plasmar la idea a carboncillo sobre el papel, acto seguido pasa una
aguada de gouache rojo en todas las obras que componen la serie a excepción de
Brain, con gouache ocre, y la obra Lungs, en la que mezcla acrílico azul. Dada
esa aguada que se hace más intensa en algunas zonas de la obra para crear
volúmenes, o dar más importancia a algunas zonas del trabajo.
La influencia o la idea le vino al observar una foto,
la cual se adjunta más abajo, en la que se puede ver a tres grandes artistas,
Dali, Picaso, Van Gogh, los cuales aparecen como en una mesa de disección, con
el pecho abierto, mostrando su interior anatómico como si hubiese sido dibujado
o diseñado por ellos. Es decir, están representados conforme a su forma de
trabajar y crear.

planteó representarse a si mismo, del mismo modo que les hicieron a estos tres
grandes artistas.
Otra influencia, aunque solo afecta al color, viene
dada por el artista chino Zhu Yi Yong, que en su segunda etapa incorpora el
color rojo en forma de hilo, lo cual es interpretado en la cultura china como
un material que une a dos personas en el tiempo y en el espacio, las cuales
están predestinadas a conocerse, ese hilo puede retorcerse, liarse, pero nunca
romperse.
En esta serie, Emel, no solo plasma partes de su
cuerpo en las que incorpora sus piercings y tatuajes para darles un toque más
personal, sino que también plasma en las obras Ira y agresividad, y en
Problems, dos aspectos del interior de las personas que nos hacen distintos a
los demás animales.
